蒲隆地的Villa

"De ligging van Casa Baronesa kan niet beter, direct aan een mooi strand, met achter het huis, gescheiden van het strand via een poortje, nog een stukje privé strand. Het huis is zeer ruim en smaakvol ingericht. Het uitzicht vanuit de slaapkamers op zee is fenomenaal. Verder zijn in de directe nabijheid de nodige restaurantjes te vinden."

De huisraad - met name het bestek en de pannen - was niet op peil en dient te worden aangevuld. Verder zouden een broodrooster en een vaatwasser welkom zijn. Het gemis hieraan heeft de pret echter zeker niet mogen drukken.

"Good location close to the beach. Easy walk to the harbour area and restaurants and bars. The property was clean and well equipped although could do with some updating. Bedrooms and living area spacious, less so the bathroom - see below."

The bathroom and particularly the shower was small and very basic. The floor in the shower sloped and was a potential hazard; care needed not to lose your balance. Jolly Beach is a beautiful long beach, but when we were there construction work was taking place along side the beach which was noisy and distracting.

"Private front garden, spacious for 3 people, separate bathrooms. We got transfer from and to the airport and the staff was extremely helpful and kind."

Unfortunately we missed the speedboat but they helped us with reserving a hotel in Malé and we did not have to pay for the first night. Maybe next time they could rather stay safe and tell us to book one night in Malé because the time is short and we may not catch the speedboat because we only had 30 minutes from landing and there was a huge line at the immigration.

"Very helpful manager Mr. Bikram Lama. He helped out a lot. the evening fireplace is wonderful to keep warm. Breakfast is made-to-order and hence decent. Once you are in the property, it's a great feeling just next to the runway!!"

Location is confusing as one has to walk quite a bit from Lukla Airport. They should coordinate a porter with arriving guests. It's very cold there and room heaters must be provided for the night. Also, 24 hour hot water supply must be provided

"Villa Fleur de Lys is a great sized villa, right on the beach, with a swimming pool and has excellent amenities. The rooms are large, with comfortable beds and en suite bathrooms. There is a kid's games room and an entertainment centre with a gym, foosball table, ping pong table and pool table. The included breakfast is big enough and the restaurant provided large portion sizes. The beach is okay for swimming, but aqua shoes are recommended as there are rocks."
